YOUTH EDUCATION ACTIVITIES
SUNDAYS AT 10 AM

Our Youth Education Activities have been revitalized under the capable leadership of Kelly Eisenhart and Eric
Schneider. Our teachers have just taken a fresh and invigorating training with our Regional consultant from
Chicago.

Included is a nursery as well as classes for older-than-nursery children and youth.  A Unity youth education
program is a great gift to any child of any age—your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and neighbor
children.

Mission Statement
To provide a safe, fun environment, where children are educated in the five basic principles of Unity, the
Metaphysical Bible, the twelve powers, and Unity history. In doing so, we hope to help each child grow emotionally
and spiritually in his or her own way.

Uniteens
In Uniteens, the focus is on the growing world of a Uniteen. Besides our basic curriculum, we study world religions
and cultures. There is so much going on at this age that practical Christianity is an essential part of this group.

Youth of Unity
The Youth of Unity (Y.O.U.) is a spiritual group for teens who come together to learn Unity principles, serve the
community, the church, and share loving, spiritual fellowship. The Y.O.U. Chapter at Unity Christ Church actively
participates in Regional Rallies, which are held throughout the year. This chapter meets on Sunday mornings at 11:
00 a.m. in the Angel's Wing.

Five Basic Principles of Unity - Child's Language
by Madison Monroe and Kim Farmer
1. The only true Power in the Universe is God; and God is good.
2. The Christ is alive in me and in everything.
3. Through the power of God, my thoughts can change my life.
4. I can choose to let go of hurtful things. I can choose to think loving thoughts.
5. I can talk to God. I can listen to God. I can use the Truth I am learning.

"Our mission is not to entertain the children, but to call them out. To be always
entertained is to be dwarfed and dependent. To be "called out" is to follow the
harmonious law of the soul's unfoldment. Who meddles with the rosebud? What
fingers are deft enough to pry open that marvel of folded beauty. We are wise
enough to leave it alone to follow the glad law of its own unfolding . . . but our
children! Have we dealt as wisely with these buds of marvelous possibilities?
Have we always remembered that they, too, must quicken and unfold through the
innate law of their own genius?"

There are volunteer opportunities available for teachers, teaching assistants, and special
activity sponsors.

February Youth Ministry Update
submitted by Kelly Eisenhart

Uniteens on the Move:

Uniteens went to the Art Museum under the supervision of Eric Schneider and Laurie Jill
Wood.  They did a self-discovery exercise with the spiritual point that we are unique
expressions of God.  So it makes sense that the more we come to know ourselves, the
more we get to know God.  And the more we know God, and express the God Presence
within us, the more peace, power, and joy that we can experience in our lives.

The Youth Ministry from Sallie’s church, Unity Church of Peace, wants to combine our
teen groups for different events and outings.  This will be a wonderful opportunity for our
Youth Ministries to join forces and for the kids to get to know others with like beliefs. We
will connect, hopefully, sometime in the next week (or two) to discuss details and share
ideas.  I will update later after our meeting.

There is also a Youth retreat in May, which the Uniteen teachers are looking into for our
kids.  More details to follow.

Youth Ministry Support Team:

Our Youth Ministry Support Team met at Kayak’s last month.  We discussed many things.
One of which was the need for more volunteers - more teachers and Support Team
members.  We brainstormed ideas and had a lot of discussion.  We will follow up at our
next meeting.

Thanks to all the members of the Support Team especially Martha Mosley who heads the
team and who has been working closely with the Youth Ministry.
