The Goddess Grapevine, July 2008
Hello and welcome ladies to the Goddess Grapevine! The Goddess
Grapevine is one way that our women’s group here at Unity Christ Church
stays connected. The Goddess group has been concentrating on sharing
our visions of new beginnings and centering our vision for Unity Christ
Church. We have been doing this through positive prayer, meditation,
affirmations and interactive exercises and/or discussions.
We took June off, but will be gathering this month on Sunday, July 13th at
11:30 in the Art Gallery downstairs. In continuing with our positive visioning for Unity Christ Church
we will participate in an activity using affirmations and candles. As with our gathering in April,
“Centering our Focus”, we will continue to remain open to the highest good for our church community,
Unity Christ Church. If you have a favorite candle and/or affirmation, please bring them.
The mini women’s retreat hosted by Unity Church of Peace’s women’s group is scheduled for Saturday,
August 9th. It will be held at the Mercy Center featuring Sister Carlita who will be presenting a
Spiritual Water Color Painting Meditation Workshop. Lunch will be provided along with coffee and tea.
If you are interested in participating in this retreat, please let me know as soon as because pre-
registration is required.
Service Projects Sponsored by the Goddess Group: Many thanks to everyone who continues to bring
needed items for our outreach projects. Everyone’s help is needed throughout the year so please
continue to help out as you are able.
Feed My People Food Pantry – “Donate a Meal a Month” is still in full swing. Please pick up one of the
yellow plastic bags located in the foyer near the book desk. These bags include a list of complete meals
for a family of one to three people for a cost of less than $10.00 making giving the needed food items a
little easier and healthier too. Let’s see how fast we can fill up and use all the bags that they provided.
Bridgeway Women’s Center – Various items are always needed so if you are still doing any “spring”
cleaning, please remember to bring your gently used give-a-ways in for donation to this group. A
collection tub along with a list of needed items is located in the foyer area by the book desk. Many
thanks to Jary O’Connell who has been heading up this project; if you have any questions, please get in
touch with Jary.
Collection and Distribution of Daily Word & other Unity booklets and reading materials – Thanks to
your contributions, Unity booklets and reading materials have continued to be distributed to a prison
ministry and the Salvation Army. If you know of any other groups that may be interested, please let
Mary Holloman know.
Remember: Next Goddess Gathering, Sunday, July 13th at 11:30 a.m.in the Art Gallery downstairs.
Please feel free to bring food treats to share with the group.
Please accept this invitation to join us in one or all of our next gatherings or activities. Please contact
Vicki Salsman, 314-522-3883 (evenings or weekends) for more information or to share ideas or
suggestions.
The Toastmasters Program was designed to help you conquer your fear, gain
confidence and improve speaking, listening and leadership skills. Through a
mutually supportive and positive environment, members have the opportunity to
foster self-confidence and personal growth. Members learn and practice
organization, persuasiveness and thinking on their feet.
Our club here at Unity Christ Church, Voices in Unity, offers these opportunities
in a fun and nurturing environment. Our regular meetings are usually held on
the second and fourth Sundays of the month (please note change due to Easter).
We meet in the Fellowship Room. Visitors are always welcome. For additional
information, please visit the website at www.tmarea19.org/club1291.htm
